Boys soccer played a hard fought game against section rival Sewickley Academy last night.
Sewickley Academy scored the first goal of the game on a corner kick with 20:45 left in the first half. They were held to that one goal by OLSH goalie
Dawson Summers, who had 6 saves on just 7 shots allowed.
It came down to the wire, but the Chargers work well under pressure. With just 1:39 remaining in the game, senior captain
Bryan Kaminski found the back of the net to score the game-tying goal. The assist came from
Billy Fryer. Tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation, the game went into double overtime.
In two ten-minute periods, both teams fought ferociously to get their feet on the ball. The Chargers took some great shots and made impressive defensive plays as the fans went wild. In the end, though, neither team was successful in scoring another goal and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
This tie gave Sewickley Academy the Section Title, making the Chargers the runners-up. Congrats, Chargers!
The team's next home game will be this Saturday, October 16th, at 10:00am against Quaker Valley. Come on out and show your support!
