The Lady Chargers traveled to #5 ranked Avonworth yesterday and it was a tough night for the girls.  The JV team started off well, winning the first set, but got into trouble during the second set and allowed Avonworth back into the match as they took the second set.  The final set of the match went back and forth, but in the end, Avonworth prevailed and took the JV match 2 sets to 1.

The Varsity squad got off to a slow start and struggled with their ball control, which allowed Avonworth to make easy work of the Chargers in the first two sets, showing total control with 25-15, and 25-13 scores.  The girls showed some fight in the third, keeping up with the 'Lopes through most of the set until it was deadlocked at 18's.  But a few Charger unforced errors, and a few well-placed serves by Avonworth closed out the match with a final set score of 25-21. 

This is the 2nd loss in the section for the Chargers, but they hope to get it turned around quickly as they travel to New Brighton tomorrow to take on the Lions.
