Congratulations to the JV and Varsity volleyball squads as they both came away with victories in their matches at Central Valley last night.

The JV girls began the evening playing a new line up and came away with a 25-19 win in set 1, but the Warriors came back and made some progress of their own as they fought hard to take set 2 with a score of 25-16.  The deciding set saw the Chargers start out well and continue to hold the lead by a few points all the way through the set, and the girls finished with a 15-11 score and the match win!

The Varsity girls played a very challenging and competitive match with the Warriors, that saw all 3 sets be decided by 2 point margins!  Set 1 went back and forth with Central Valley taking an early lead and threatening to take the first set, but the Chargers kept within striking distance and were able to tie the score late and eventually take the win with a 25-23 score.  Set 2 was more of the same as each team took turns making really good plays throughout the set.  The Chargers held the lead and looked like they would be the first to 25, but Central Valley came all the way back and tied the Chargers at 24, then took the lead 25-24.  The Chargers held them off by tying the score at 25, then taking the lead 26-25, but this time the Warriors came back to tie it again at 26 all!  The Chargers were finally able to string 2 good plays together to take the very exciting set with a 28-26 score.  Set 3 was again more of the same as both teams traded points for most of the set, with Central Valley holding a consistent 3 point lead over the Chargers most of the way.  But after Central Valley scored their 22nd point, the Chargers came back and tied the score at 22's and at 23's, before making the plays to win the 3rd set 25-23. 

All in all, a very exciting, well contested match by both teams with the good guys winning in the end! Coach MAC and the girls would like to say thanks to the boys soccer team players that came out to the match after their victory over BCCS.  It's always exciting to have students supporting each other!
