Congratulations to both the JV and Varsity girls volleyball teams on their impressive performances last night at Aliquippa, as each squad secured straight-set victories over the Lady Quips.
The JV team set the tone early, showing complete control throughout the match with commanding set scores of 25-6 and 25-15. Their focused play and consistent execution led to a quick and decisive win.
The Varsity team followed suit with a strong showing of their own, defeating Aliquippa in three straight sets: 25-16, 25-23, and 25-18. The team showed resilience and teamwork throughout the match, maintaining momentum from start to finish.
It was a well-rounded team effort with contributions across the board. Jordyn Velmire led the offense with 24 assists, while also adding 2 kills, 2 aces, and a dig. Julia Davoli had 8 kills and 6 digs, and Carmella Rippole added 5 kills, 5 aces, 5 digs, and an assist. Adrianna Batts and Frankie Schlatterer each delivered explosive plays at the net, contributing 6 and 2 kills respectively. Jenna Nastal chipped in with 4 kills, 4 aces, and 2 digs, while Malley Woynaradded 3 kills and a block. Defensively, Izabella Coladonato recorded 6 digs and an ace, and Lola Garner added 5 aces and 2 digs to round out a solid team performance.
The girls will enjoy some well-deserved time off before returning to practice next week as they prepare for upcoming match-ups against Northgate and New Brighton.
