The OLSH Girls Cross Country team earned a 2nd place finish in Class A at the Mingo Classic, held on October 9th at Mingo Creek Park. The event featured top-tier competition, including schools from Class AAA.
The team was led by four standout performances, each earning individual awards. Jules Goshen placed 7th overall with an impressive time of 19:36 in the 5k race. Hannah Hayes wasn't far behind, finishing 9th overall with a time of 19:46. Lindsay Bressler ran her best race of the season, securing 19th place in 20:51, while Eva Crofford rounded out the individual awards with a 20th place finish in 20:52. Charlotte Gauntner rounded out the scoring for the girls' team, finishing 31st in 21:34, while Mira Mosca followed closely in her footsteps.
The OLSH Boys Cross Country team also had a solid showing, finishing 3rd in Class A. The boys were led by Brayden Douglass, who placed 22nd overall with a time of 17:18. Wesley Goshen finished 56th in 18:18, while Leo Mosca placed 78th in 19:07. Sidney McLaughlin came in 84th at 19:15, and David Hricisak completed the team scoring in 98th place with a time of 19:57.
Both teams demonstrated grit and determination, making their mark against some of the best competition in the area. Congratulations to all the athletes on their hard work and dedication!!
