In just their third year as a co-op team through Sewickley Academy, the Panthers hockey team broke through in a big way last night, earning their first-ever win with an impressive 4–1 victory over Central Valley.
Defenseman David Merlo set the tone early, burying two gorgeous goals to give the Panthers an immediate boost and a confident lead. The team kept pushing, controlling the pace and skating into the third period up 3–1. With Central Valley pressing late, forward Mario Thomas sealed the moment—firing home an empty-netter in the final minute to lock in the historic 4–1 win.
Congratulations to the entire team on a well-deserved and hard-fought victory!
The Panthers are back in action Thursday night as they take on Connellsville. Let's keep the momentum rolling!
