Both the OLSH boys and girls soccer teams were in action over the weekend, with the boys competing in the Plum Soccer Kickoff Tournament and the girls facing Beaver.
The OLSH boys soccer team competed in the Plum Soccer Kickoff Tournament, playing Gateway and Plum over the weekend.
On Saturday, the Chargers fell to Gateway, 2-1. Grant Griesacker scored OLSH's lone goal on a penalty kick.
OLSH returned to the field Sunday against Plum. The Chargers trailed 2-0 at halftime before falling 3-1. Griesacker again found the back of the net on a penalty kick, scoring both of OLSH's goals over the weekend. Goalkeeper Jack Dewhirst also turned in a strong performance, recording 12 saves against Plum.
The girls soccer team faced Beaver over the weekend, falling 4-1. The Chargers kept the game close, trailing just 2-1 until late in the match before Beaver added two goals. Sydney Pasterick provided a highlight for OLSH, scoring her first WPIAL goal for the Chargers.
Both teams will look to bounce back as they continue their seasons this week.
