The OLSH girls volleyball team picked up two impressive road victories this week, earning a three-set sweep over top-ranked Shenango before battling to a five-set victory over highly ranked Frazier.

The Chargers traveled to Shenango and came away with a hard-fought sweep, winning 25-22, 25-20 and 26-24. OLSH faced its biggest challenge in the third set, trailing 24-23 before rallying to win the final three points and complete the sweep.

Frankie Schlatterer led the Chargers with seven kills, four blocks, three aces and two assists. Carmella Rippole recorded 15 assists and a solo block, while Sophia Wasko added six aces and Adrianna Batts contributed seven kills. The OLSH JV team also competed against Shenango, falling in two sets.

The Chargers then made the trip to Frazier to take on another highly ranked opponent. After a strong start, OLSH won the first two sets, 25-20 and 25-16. Frazier battled back to take the next two sets, 25-20 and 25-16, sending the match to a deciding fifth set.

The Chargers responded with a dominant performance in the final set, jumping out to an early lead and never looking back. OLSH closed out the match with a 15-6 victory in the fifth set to secure the hard-fought road win.

Carmella Rippole finished the match with 33 assists, while Frankie Schlatterer recorded 13 kills and five aces. Izabella Coladonato also had 13 kills, and Macie Trombetta contributed 10 kills and two aces. Sophia Wasko added six aces and three digs.

With two challenging road matches against highly ranked opponents, the Chargers showed poise, resilience and determination to come away with a pair of important victories.
