Over Christmas Break, the Cornell-OLSH-Eden Swim Team Co-op competed in the West Allegheny Christmas Invitational, delivering impressive performances against tough competition. The girls' team secured an 8th-place finish, while the boys' team finished 10th overall.
Currently, the girls' team boasts an undefeated section record of 3-0 and an overall standing of 4-5. With each meet, the team gains valuable experience and achieves strong results. Several swimmers have already qualified for the MAC Championships, including Gianna Mosca, Mira Mosca, Grace Turko, Sam Bleakley, and PJ Hawkins. Meanwhile, Juliet Price and Moriah Kloss are on the verge of qualifying.
The team's relay squads are also showing promise, with all three girls' relay teams nearing qualification for the WPIAL Championships. As the season progresses, many swimmers have achieved personal bests, highlighting their hard work and determination. Notable accomplishments include Sam and PJ in the 200 Freestyle, Clara in multiple freestyle events and the Breaststroke, and Moriah and Juliet in the 100 Backstroke.
Looking ahead, the team's biggest challenge comes next Thursday when they face Chartiers Valley. A victory in this meet could secure the coveted Section title for the girls' team.
