The Boys Basketball team rallied from an early deficit to secure a 53-38 victory over South Side in their latest match-up, improving their overall record to 10-4 and 5-1 in section play.
The Chargers struggled in the first quarter, trailing by 11 points with a score of 5-16. However, they made significant adjustments in the second quarter, cutting South Side's lead in half. Jake Johnson led the charge with 9 points, while Chad Minton added 3 points and Patrick Altmar and Owen Minzer each contributed 2 points, bringing the halftime score to 21-27.
In the second half, the Chargers turned up the heat, outscoring South Side 32-11 and sealing the win. Jake Johnson had a standout performance, finishing with 31 points, while Vann Kavals played a key role on the boards, grabbing 11 rebounds.
Next up, the Chargers will face Neshannock in home section play on Friday at Moon High School.
