The OLSH Girls Volleyball team hit the road last night for a match-up against New Brighton—and ended up playing some bonus volleyball. The JV squad set the tone early, sweeping the Lions in straight sets, 2-0.
The varsity match proved to be a tougher test. With several lineup combinations on display and the scrappy play of a fired-up New Brighton team on the other side of the net, the Chargers had to dig deep. New Brighton took the first set 25-21, but OLSH responded with strong play to win the next two sets, 25-16 and 25-17.
Just when it looked like the Chargers had control, the Lions rallied and capitalized on a few OLSH errors to edge out the fourth set, 26-24, forcing a deciding fifth.
In the final set, the Chargers left no doubt—dominating from start to finish with a commanding 15-4 win to take the match.
