The Chargers opened the Monessen Holiday Tournament with a 59-25 win over Monessen on Tuesday, improving their record to 5-4 on the season.
The Chargers took control early and never let up, scoring 31 points in the first half while holding Monessen to limited offensive opportunities. Strong defense and steady execution allowed the Chargers to build a comfortable lead and cruise through the second half.
Jake Johnson led all scorers with 15 points, while Frankie Igrec added 12 and Tiernan McCullough chipped in 10. Additional scoring came from Austin Avsec, Nolan Reed, Owen Minzer, Chad Minton, Patrick Altmar, and Mario Thomas as the Chargers made the most of their possessions.
The Chargers will continue play in the Monessen Holiday Tournament tomorrow when they take on Washington in the second game. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
