Boys Basketball Grant Kalich '26

Chargers Down South Side on Senior Night; Look Towards Playoffs

The OLSH Chargers defeated the South Side Rams by a final score of 54 to 26.

The Chargers honored five seniors before the game. Seniors Vann Kavals, Lucca Grisafi, Tommy Moses, Iseia Field-Schulz, and Gino Williams. Kavals, Grisafi, and Moses all started and Fields-Schulz scored later in the contest, all contributing to the win. South Side started off the night strong taking the first quarter 10 to 9, but the Chargers were able to take the lead going into the half with a score of 20 to 16. The Chargers were able to pull away with a dominant third quarter which they took 26 to 5. They then closed out the game in the fourth and came away with the 54 to 26 victory.

The leading scores for the Chargers were Tiernan McCullough and Jake Johnson who scored 16 and 15 points each. The Rams were led by Andrew Corfield who had 12.

The Chargers closed out the regular season with a 17-5 record. They also finished with a 12-2 record in section play and that was good for second in their section. The Rams finished the season with an 11-11 record (5-9 in section play) and tied for fifth place in the section. Both teams have qualified for the playoffs.

The brackets, dates, and locations for the 21 teams in the 2A WPIAL playoffs will be announced this Monday at 2 pm. The Chargers will look to continue their strong play into the playoffs.
