The OLSH boys basketball team picked up two convincing victories over the weekend, beginning with a home win Friday night before capturing a victory in the PBC Hall of Fame Classic on Saturday.
Friday: OLSH 57, Rochester 22
Playing at home, the Chargers opened the weekend with a dominant 57–22 win over Rochester. OLSH set the pace early, building a 16–7 lead after the first quarter and extending the margin to 30–10 by halftime.
The Chargers continued to pull away in the third quarter and entered the final period with a commanding 49–16 advantage.
Frankie Igrec led OLSH with 14 points, while Jake Johnson added 12. Austin Avsec finished with eight points, and Nolan Reed and Tiernan McCullough chipped in five apiece as the Chargers showcased balanced scoring and strong defense.
Saturday: OLSH 53, Brashear 25
On Saturday, OLSH carried that momentum into the PBC Hall of Fame Classic at Ambridge High School, defeating Brashear 53–25.
The Chargers led 18–11 after one quarter and 30–18 at halftime, with Jake Johnson scoring 14 of his game-high 20 points in the opening half. OLSH put the game away in the third quarter, outscoring the Bulls 21–2.
Tiernan McCullough scored nine of his 13 points during the decisive third-quarter run, and Frankie Igrec added 10 points as OLSH improved to 9–4 overall.
The Chargers return home Tuesday for a match-up against South Side.
