The track and field team delivered an impressive performance Thursday at New Brighton, highlighted by personal bests, record-breaking efforts, and a strong team victory for the girls.
Leading the way was Hannah Hayes, who broke her own school record in the 300m hurdles with a personal-best time of 49.01. She also won the 100m hurdles, helping set the tone for a dominant girls performance. The girls team secured a 77–64 victory over New Brighton. The team tallied 10 first-place finishes, six seconds, and nine thirds in a true all-around effort.
Top performances included a first-place finish in the 4x800m relay (11:11.52) and another win in the 4x400m relay (4:37.23). Mira Mosca was a double-distance winner, taking first in both the 1600m (5:37.67) and 3200m (11:48.11). Charlotte Gauntner claimed gold in the 800m (2:39.30), while Eva Crofford won the 400m with a PR of 1:03.02 and added a second-place finish in the 200m (PR). Lindsay Bressler (second) and Selena Mackin (third) added points in the 400m.
In the field events, Abigail Mackin won the triple jump (28-5), with Sanaa King finishing second and also placing third in the long jump. Bella Grega took second in discus and third in javelin, while Lily Hunter added a third-place discus finish.
Additional contributors included Hannah Hayes (third in high jump, 4-4 PR), Molly Gauntner (third in the 3200m), Ava Ziemniak (third in the 200m), Isabel Stuckeman (third in the 300m hurdles, 1:01.16 PR), Macie Trombetta (third in the 1600m, 6:19.97 PR), and Madelyn Wolsko (third in the 100m, 14.04 PR). The 4x100 relay team also earned a second-place finish.
On the boys side, the team fell to New Brighton, 94–42, but showed determination throughout the meet. Nine athletes scored points, combining for five first-place finishes, five seconds, and two thirds.
The boys were led by a first-place finish in the 4x800m relay (9:46.58). Brayden Douglass won the 800m (2:21.53), with Leo Mosca placing second with a PR of 2:25.12. In the hurdles, Sidney McLaughlin earned third in the 300m hurdles with a PR of 50.98. Randall Goodwald added a second-place finish in the 200m (PR 25.83), while the 4x100m relay placed third.
The throwing events were a major strength, as Owen Wasko won both the discus (PR 138-7) and shot put (42-11). Trey Moses added a first-place finish in the javelin (PR 159-7) and took second in the discus (127-7).
Overall, the meet showcased a strong mix of top-end performances and depth, with numerous athletes stepping up and achieving personal bests.
