The OLSH Cross Country team traveled to Geneva, Ohio, on the evening of August 29 to compete in the HOKA Night Showcase at the SPIRE Institute. The meet is one of the most competitive events of the season, featuring a unique night race through dark trails illuminated by glowing lights.
The OLSH girls had an outstanding performance, winning the Gold Division against a competitive field of 44 teams and 277 runners.
Mira Mosca led the Chargers with a ninth-place finish and a medal, crossing the line in 19:40. Hannah Hayes also earned a medal, placing 15th overall with a time of 20:00. Jules Goshen finished just six seconds behind Hayes, earning a 22nd-place medal. Eva Crofford continued the strong showing for OLSH, placing 31st and medaling with a time of 20:33.
Freshman Ellie Green rounded out the Chargers' scoring runners, placing 40th with a time of 20:48. Lindsay Bressler finished in 21:31, while Juliet Price recorded a time of 22:53.
On the boys side, Leopold Mosca led the Chargers, followed by Ethan Hankinson, David Hricisak, Derek Daniels, and freshman Grady Molinero, who completed the team's scoring lineup.
The meet marked an impressive start to the season for OLSH Cross Country, highlighted by the girls' Gold Division championship and strong performances from both teams.
