The Chargers traveled to Beaver Area High School to take on the #5 ranked BCCS Eagles, and after a tough first set loss, were able to right the ship and take the next 3 sets in solid fashion for the match win. The first set went back and fourth, with BCCS finally taking the set with a 25-23 win. The Chargers recovered however, as they showed consistency in their serving, and receiving, which led to solid plays being made to score points. Set 2 was all Chargers as they ran out to the lead and never looked back as they finished with a 25-15 score. Set 3 went much the same way as the Chargers again jumped out to a lead and cruised to a 25-13 victory, and a 2 sets to one advantage. Set 4 was close until 15, when the Chargers made a 4 point swing to get control and then finish the set with a score of 25-16, and taking the match 3 sets to 1. The jv also won their match, but it did go the full limit, as they won set 1, lost set 2, and then came back to win set 3 to take the match. The boys will be off tomorrow, and the jv will travel to Penn Hills on Saturday to participate in the Penn Hills JV Invitational. The boys will play again next Wednesday as they visit Hopewell to take on the Vikings in a section match up.
