Congratulations to the boys volleyball team as they punched their ticket to the playoffs with a come-from-behind victory over the Trinity Hillers last night!

The evening began with the JV team winning its match in two straight sets.

Trinity honored its five seniors before warm-ups for the varsity match, and a raucous student section added to the atmosphere. The Hillers rode that energy early, dominating the first set and defeating the Chargers 25-14. The Chargers showed improvement in the second set but still fell short, losing 25-19 and facing the possibility of a straight-set sweep.

Everything changed in the third set. The Chargers came alive, putting together strong rallies and taking command early. They never relinquished the lead, earning some revenge with a convincing 25-14 win of their own. Carrying that momentum into the fourth set, the Chargers battled through a tight contest. Trailing 22-20 after their second timeout, the boys responded with back-to-back points to tie the set at 22. They then finished strong, securing a hard-fought 25-23 victory to force a decisive fifth set.

With the season on the line, both teams traded points throughout the final set. The Chargers eventually built a three-point lead late and never looked back, closing out the match with a 15-12 win to complete the reverse sweep and earn a spot in the WPIAL playoffs!
