The OLSH Boys Volleyball team traveled to Trinity High School to play for the third day in a row against the Hillers. After a tough night for both teams that featured ebbs and flows for both in just about every game, the Chargers came out victorious in the end, escaping with a hard fought 3-2 match win. Contributions were made by everyone on the OLSH roster, keeping the Chargers in second place in the section and increasing their overall record to 8-2 and still a solid number 4 ranking in WPIAL AA. The individual game scores had Trinity winning set one 25-15, OLSH winning set two 25-21, Trinity winning set three 25-21, OLSH winning set four 25-16, and the Chargers taking the fifth set and the match with a final set score of 15-10.
Paul Belak and
Andrew Schnarre both had 15 kills apiece, and
Jake Horigan added 17 in the kill department as well.
Brock Saftner added 46 assists for the night, and
Ryan Parker added a timely kill in set five to put the Chargers in a winning position with 2 points left to score. Additional plays were also made by
Sig Saftner,
Colin Wiegand,
Tanner Blose,
Jeremy Ciaramella, and
Mike King.
In the junior varsity match, OLSH again added to their win column as they took the Hillers Jv in 2 straight sets, 25-14, and 25-23.
The boys will enjoy a few days off and will reset their batteries as they prepare to host Ambridge and BCCS on consecutive days next Tuesday and Wednesday at the AAC. Hope to see everyone there.
