The boys volleyball team traveled to Derry High School on Friday and came away with a pretty good result.
The JV team unfortunately suffered their first match defeat of the season, losing 2-0 to the Trojans JV. But the Varsity squad was able to take a 3-0 sweep back home to increase their match record to 8 wins and 1 loss. The individual scores were 25-21, 25-21, and 25-15.
The JV boys rebounded nicely on Saturday as they ended up in the finals of the Penn Hills Tournament. The boys went 6-0 in their first pool, defeating Norwin, Latrobe, and Obama. This put them in a second pool with Shaler, Penn-Trafford and Derry, where they ended up 2-1 and secured the overall #1 seed for the playoff round. They defeated Gateway and Penn-Trafford before losing 26-24 to Latrobe. All in all a good day for the JV.
The boys will play at home tomorrow night against the Ambridge Bridgers. The JV match will begin at 6 with Varsity to follow. Hope to see you there!
