Congratulations to the JV and Varsity boys volleyball teams as they continued their winning ways with their victories over the Ambridge Bridgers last night at the AAC. 

The JV won fairly handily as they swept the Bridgers JV with game scores of 25-14 and 25-12. 
The Varsity squad looked completely in control in their match as they took a comfortable lead with the first 2 sets going 25-19 and 26-13. 
The hope was to sweep Ambridge in 3, but the Bridgers had other ideas.  They jumped out to a 7-1 lead, then an 18-9 lead before the Chargers began to score points and work to get back into the game.  Ambridge eventually won set 3 with a 25-21 score, but they now had the momentum they needed to make it a dog fight for the rest of the night.  Set 4 was very competitive, as both teams traded points throughout the set.  The Chargers held a 20-17 lead, but Ambridge tied it up at 22, then took the lead themselves, getting it to 24-22 and serving to extend the match to the final game.  But, the Chargers showed their toughness, as they not only tied the game at 24, but eventually went on to win the set 26-24 and take the match 3-1. 

The boys are now 9-1 and face Seton LaSalle tonight at the AAC for a non section match.  JV will start at 6 and Varsity will follow at 7:15.  Should be another good night for volleyball!
