A very enthusiastic OLSH crowd was on hand to cheer on the boys and girls track and field teams as they participated in their last meet of the season on Tuesday, May 7 at Montour High School. All three relay teams that participated ran for season-best times and now have an excellent chance of qualifying for the WPIAL championships next week. The Girls 4x800m team of
Gianna Mosca '25,
Mira Mosca '27,
Mary Grace Gauntner '25, and
Charlotte Gauntner '26 knocked four more seconds off their time to finish at 10:31:66. In the last girls' event of the evening, the 4x400m team of
Charlotte Gauntner,
Ashlyn Johnson '26,
Lindsay Bressler '27 and
Hannah Hayes '27 improved by five seconds, finishing at 4:21.87. Finally, the boys 4x800m team, featuring
Will Stickman '25 and sophomores
Brayden Douglass,
Oliver Tomsic, and
Wesley Goshen improved their season-best time by over twenty seconds to finish at 8:49.57. Final WPIAL participants will be announced soon, and qualifying athletes will travel to Slippery Rock University to compete on Wednesday, May 15.
