The OLSH Chargers fell to Quaker Valley 8-7 on Friday at Esmark Field in Bell Acres.
The Chargers took the loss despite out-hitting Quaker Valley 12 to 8. Senior
Thomas Medwig led OLSH with three hits.
OLSH flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 5-3. Sophomore
Ryan DeNinno launched a triple into right field that drove in three of those runs.
Quaker Valley jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Oscar Roig walked, and Henry Zupanc was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.

Sean Hudac singled to center field, which helped OLSH tie the game at six in the top of the fourth.

Anthony Hansen gave the Chargers the lead, 7-6, in the top of the sixth.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Quaker Valley earned the walk-off win when Todd Kagle singled into deep left field, scoring Holden Kirkham.
Medwig pitched four and one-third innings in relief, taking the mound in the third inning to replace starter
Iseia Fields-Schulz. Medwig surrendered three hits and two runs (zero earned), striking out six and walking two. Fields-Schulz gave up five hits and six runs (three earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out four and walking six.
Nolan Wagoner started the game for Quaker Valley. The hurler surrendered nine hits and six runs over four innings, striking out six and walking two.
The Chargers collected 12 total hits and 7 runs. DeNinno, the number nine hitter for OLSH, led the way with three runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. In addition to Medwig, Hudac and Hansen also each collected multiple hits for OLSH.
Kolton Johnson, Quaker Valley's number eight hitter, led the team with two hits in three at-bats. Wagoner and Kirkham each drove in one run for Quaker Valley. Roig paced Quaker Valley with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game.
The Chargers next play at home on Wednesday, March 26 against Steel Valley.
