Hayes provides solid showing in Western PA Girls Regional tournament; Gayliardi places in Top 25 in the Boys Regional Tournament
Two OLSH Chargers Bowlers took part in the Western Pennsylvania Regionals and provided some success, representing the school proud with their results at Bowlero in Pittsburgh.
Sophomore Hannah Hayes started strong by bowling a 168 en route to an overall series of 660 which was good enough for 75th place out of almost 100 bowlers but was among the higher scores among sophomore girls in the Western half of the state.
Senior Tom Gayliardi provided some excitement in the Regional tournament with three scores in the 200s and producing a 977 series, putting him in 22nd place out of over 80 bowlers that competed during the evening at Bowlero.Â
Both Hannah and Tom took part in the Western PA Regional Championships over the weekend as well.

OLSH Girls Bowling Performs well in Team Regionals, finished 11th in best showing since 2013!
The OLSH Girls Bowling Team competed in the 2025 Western PA Regional Championships for the first time since 2020 and solidified themselves as one of the best teams in the WPIBL, placing 11th place in a competitive field. The 11th place finish was the team's best ranking since an 8th place finish in 2013.
The girls placed 12th after Three Rounds of Bowling and improved their ranking thanks to strong Baker Game play, improving one spot in the standings to finish just outside the top 10 after finishing the Regular Season at 10-0.
Junior Katie McCullough led the way for the Lady Chargers with a 440 series with the top team score of 170. Junior Chloe Goodwin continued her successful second half of the year with a 401 series and a top score of 145. Sophomores Natalie Turcios and Hannah Hayes had top scores of 137 and 131 respectively, maintaining strong results throughout the tournament. Senior Addy Valvo finished her 4-year Bowling Career at OLSH with a top score of 138.
Senior Margaret Mary Sweeney and Junior Jacque Day competed in Baker Games for OLSH, producing strikes and spares to help the team improve in the standings for a total team score of 2,734.

OLSH Boys Bowling puts up a solid performance, finishing 13th in Team Regionals!
The OLSH Chargers Boys Bowling Team finished the weekend's Western PA Regional Championships with a strong performance in a difficult field of bowling teams, finishing 13th place and producing some incredible highlights throughout the championship rounds. This was OLSH's first Boys Regional appearance since 2016 and best finish since a 13th place finish in 2010! The Chargers qualified for the event due to winning the West Section with a record of 9-1.
The Boys were as high as 4th place after the first round of qualifying and finished 8th overall after traditional games were complete. A tough oil pattern resulted in many teams in the tournament experiencing challenges as the patterns broke down towards the end of the day at Bowlero in Pittsburgh.
The Chargers were led by Sophomore Isaac Tarbuk, who posted a team-best 576 series and scores of 207 and 201. Senior Tom Gayliardi ended his 4-year Bowling career at OLSH with an impressive 576 series with all scores higher than 175. Senior Gavin Thompson had a 500 series as well, finishing with a 517 and a team-high single score of 212. Junior Jonah Schollaert and Senior Anthony Hansen provided reinforcements for OLSH with a series scores of 491 and 485 respectively.
Senior Caleb Mutschler and Junior Oliver Tomsic competed during Baker games, marking with strikes and spares to help OLSH stay steady after the first set of Baker games.
In the Baker games, OLSH finished with a 916 through six games to finish with a total pin count of 3.547 for the tournament. Congratulations to the Chargers on an amazing season!
