Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Volleyball Team on their championship win at the South Side Area Tournament this past weekend!

The Chargers dominated the day, going undefeated in pool play with strong victories over Sto-Rox, West Greene, and host South Side Area. Their stellar performance earned them the number one seed heading into the playoff round.

In the playoffs, the girls stayed sharp, defeating Rochester and New Brighton to advance to the finals, where they faced off against the other top-seeded team of the day, the Fort Cherry Rangers.

The championship match was a thrilling battle. The Chargers held the lead for most of the final set, but the Rangers made a late push to take a narrow 23–22 lead. With the pressure on, the Chargers showed their resilience. They tied the game at 23, then surged ahead to win the set 25–23, clinching the championship trophy in dramatic fashion.

This impressive performance sets the tone for what looks to be an exciting season ahead. The Chargers will kick off match play this week as they travel to take on the Keystone Oaks Eagles tomorrow.
