The boys traveled to South Fayette last night and quickly saw why the Lions are ranked No. 3 in the WPIAL.
The JV team fell in straight sets, 2–0. Both games were competitive but just out of reach.
At the varsity level, the Chargers came out strong, battling point-for-point in the opening set before narrowly dropping it, 22–25. South Fayette gained momentum in the second set and pulled away early, earning a 25–10 win and putting themselves in position for a sweep.
The Chargers responded with resilience in the third set, fighting back to secure a hard-earned 26–24 victory. However, the Lions regrouped in the fourth set and controlled the action, closing out the match with a 25–17 win.
The loss marks the first of the season for the boys, who will look to bounce back Tuesday when they host section opponent Trinity at the AAC.
