The Girls and Boys Track & Field teams made the most of the Last Chance Meet held at West Mifflin. This meet was the last opportunity for the athletes to qualify for one of the top 16 spots in AA. Those who make the top 16 advance to the WPIAL Championships which will be held May 16th in Slippery Rock. Quite a few of our athletes set PRs today as well as secured themselves a trip to WPIALs.
It was season best running for
Haley Hamilton and
Hannah Valenty in the 800 meters today. Both young ladies have qualified for the WPIAL championship.
Finnian Sweeney had a big PR by 22 seconds and ran a 11:02 two mile.
Alfonso Roberts broke his own 100 meter record
again with a blazing time of 11.28.
Our relay teams have been fun to watch this season, achieving success after success at each meet. The boys 4 x 800 team ran a season PR of 9:02 today. The girls 4 x 100 set a new season record of 52.84, only .38 off the school record.
Catherine Palahunik ended her OLSH track career with an all time best in the 300 hurdles of 52.62. Great job Katie, you will be missed
