Rochester registers rare home loss against the Chargers
Both teams traded baskets in the first quarter and Rochester had a 14 to 13 lead heading into the final possession.
The Chargers held for the last shot and
Kyleigh Nagy drained a 3 pointer and OLSH was up 16 to 14
The Charger's defense stepped up and held the Rams to just 9 points for the frame . The visitors
scoring was led by Junior guards
Kyleigh Nagy and
Mia Grisafi who each had a trey and a field goal for
the quarter. OLSH led at the half 30-24.
Seniors
Emily Schuck and
Katie Hoff each had 4 points in the frame and the stingy defense allowed the Rams only
10 points for the frame. OLSH held a 44-33 3rd quarter lead as the buzzer sounded.
Kent State recruit Corynne Hauser led a 4th quarter Rams comeback with 11 points in the quarter
but the Chargers countered with two
Emily Schuck field goals and 6 points from
Mia Grisafi off of
Kyleigh Nagy assists.
OLSH came away with a 56 to 49 road win against the 3 time defending Wpial Class A champions.
OLSH upped its record to 9-4 overall and 4-1 in section play.
The Chargers play this Saturday against Obama at Aliquippa. Tip off is 4pm.
