CHARGERS FALL IN WPIAL QUARTERFINAL GAME

GCC 57 OLSH 42

#6 OLSH and #3 GCC played a AAA Quarterfinal game at Bethel Park High School.

The Chargers and the Centurians traded baskets for most of the first quarter but GCC

pulled away in the final minute. It was GCC 19 OLSH 14. Lola Garner led the scoring with 9 points and Leah Parker had 5 points to round out the offensive attack.

Shae Trombetta led the OLSH offensive with 8 points in the second frame as the Chargers battled the Centurians. GCC outscored OLSH14-13 and Chargers went in at

intermission down 7 points. Jules Goshen and Lola Garner each chipped in a basket.

The Chargers reeled off 8 straight points to start the 3rd quarter to a take a 1 point lead but the

Centurians went on a 16-3 run and when the buzzer sounded, it was GCC 50 OLSH 38.

Lola Garner hit 2 long treys and Rowan Winter made 2 inside baskets in the quarter.

In the 4th quarter, the Chargers got baskets from Lola Garner and Rowan Winter in the opening minutes

while GCC went into the stall game and finished the winning effort outscoring the Chargers 7-4.

OLSH is 18-6 overall and will move into the state qualifying consolation bracket. It will play on Friday at a site and time TBD.
