WEST ALLEGHENY 61  OLSH 53

The 9-5 West Allegheny Indians (5A) played the 9-1 OLSH Chargers (3A) at the Chuck Mahoney Classic.

Senior Claudia Ierullo scored 7 points in the first quarter as the Chargers and the Indians each tallied 12 points.

Claudia Ierullo was the only Charger to score in the second quarter as the Indians forged in front of OLSH.  At the half, it was West Allegheny 28 - OLSH 20

In the third quarter, OLSH got scoring contributions from Leah Parker who poured in 7 points while Emily Scheller-Gallagher and Sara Daeschner each hit a three pointer to go along with 6 points from Claudia Ierullo.  As the buzzer sounded, it was West Allegheny 42 - OLSH 39.

The fourth quarter was a close battle. OLSH got scoring from five different players, but the Indians countered with three timely three pointer to hold off the Chargers.  Leah Parker - 5 points, Claudia Ierullo - 4points, Lola Garner - 2 points, Sara Daeschner - 2 points, and Annabeth Grayson converted a free throw. 

The Chargers fell by 8 points.

The Chargers are 9-2 overall and 4-0 in Section Play.
OLSH will be in action on Monday at Riverside in a Varsity only game.
