The girls cross country team placed 3rd at the WPIAL Championships, securing a spot at the PIAA Championship meet in Hershey on November 1st.
Individually, Jules Goshen led the team with a 5th place finish, clocking in at 19:29, followed closely by Hannah Hayes in 6th place with a time of 19:33. Eva Crofford placed 16th in 20:46, while Lindsay Bressler finished 21st with a time of 21:08. Senior Charlotte Gauntner rounded out the scoring team in 32nd place at 21:35.
On the boys' side, Brayden Douglass stood out with a 13th place finish, running his best race of the season,16:58, earning him a spot at the State meet in Hershey.
Brayden's efforts helped propel the boys team to a strong 4th place finish, just missing out on qualifying for States by one place. Andre Kolocourus had a standout performance, running a personal best of 17:41 and finishing 28th, just three spots shy of qualification. Jeremy Ye finished 30th with a time of 17:45, only five spots away from advancing. Wesley Goshen ran 18:07, and Leo Mosca capped off the team's efforts with a personal best of 18:23.
Both teams delivered their best performances of the season. The journey continues for Brayden and the girls team as they prepare for the state championships next week.
