Congratulations to the Girls Cross Country team for delivering another outstanding performance at the PIAA 1A State Championships in Hershey on Saturday, earning State Runner-Up honors for the second year in a row! The team once again demonstrated exceptional depth, determination, and teamwork finishing just 6 points away from being State Champions.
Leading the team were freshman Jules Goshen, who placed 13th overall with an impressive time of 20:26, and junior Hannah Hayes, who secured a 20th-place finish in 20:35. Both girls won medals at the meet. Rounding out the team effort was freshman Eva Crofford who finished 46th out of 250 total runners with a time of 21:40, junior Mira Mosca who came in 62nd with a time of 22:01, and junior Lindsay Bressler who closed out the scoring in 79th-place with a time of 22:18. Sisters, senior Charlotte Gauntner (23:16) and freshman Molly Gauntner (24:22), also had solid performances to help secure the team's impressive 2nd-place finish.
On the boys' side, senior Brayden Douglass represented the team as the sole state qualifier from OLSH, finishing 29th out of 257 runners with a time of 17:50, just missing a state medal by 4 places.
This remarkable finish highlights the athletes' dedication, perseverance, and outstanding teamwork. Congratulations to all the runners and their coaches on another incredible season!
