Beaver Falls 46, OLSH 42

OLSH fell just short Tuesday night, dropping a 46–42 Section loss to undefeated Beaver Falls.

The Chargers controlled much of the early action. After a brief 10-minute delay in the first quarter due to scoreboard issues, OLSH jumped out to a 9–6 lead and carried an 11–10 advantage into the end of the period. Lola Garner led the Chargers with four first-quarter points, while Sara  Daeschner connected on a deep three-pointer.

In the second quarter remained evenly played, with both teams trading momentum. Rowan Winter and Lola Garner each scored four points in the frame, and Leah Parker knocked down a long three to help OLSH keep pace. At halftime, the teams were deadlocked at 24–24.

OLSH continued its balanced attack in the third quarter, receiving scoring contributions from five different players. A three-point buzzer-beater by Macie Trombetta gave the Chargers a 1-point edge heading into the final quarter. Lola Garner scored four points in the quarter, while Shae Trombetta added three, Sara Daeschner chipped in two, and Rowan Winter finished with two.

The decisive stretch came in the fourth quarter. OLSH and Beaver Falls exchanged baskets over the first four minutes, but the Chargers were held scoreless for the remainder of the game. Lola Garner accounted for OLSH's only points in the quarter. Beaver Falls, meanwhile, managed just three field goals in the period, but capitalized at the free-throw line, going 3-for-10 in the quarter. 

Beaver Falls shot 25 free throws overall compared to OLSH's 11 attempts for the game.The disparity at the foul line proved to be the difference, as Beaver Falls preserved its unbeaten record with the four-point win.

With the loss, OLSH falls to 12–4 overall and 6–3 in Section play. The Chargers will look to rebound Thursday night when they return home for a Section match-up against Quaker Valley.
