It was Senior Night at Mohawk, with seniors from both teams acknowledged.
The game began with senior players from both teams who are recovering from ACL injuries scoring baskets. The score was tied 2–2, with Annabeth Grayson hitting the first basket for OLSH.
The Chargers came out strong offensively while applying pressure on defense. OLSH went on a 29–0 run led by Lola Garner, who connected on four treys, and Rowan Winter, who poured in eight points. Shae Trombetta added two baskets, Camryn Hummel had a basket, and Macie Trombetta ended the quarter with a long three. The score stood at OLSH 31, Mohawk 2.
Freshman Jules Goshen and Macie Trombetta scored five and four points respectively to lead the next offensive push. Camryn Hummel added three points, and Rowan Winter chipped in a deuce. At intermission, it was Chargers 45, Warriors 7.
With the clock running in the second half, the starting lineup saw very limited action. Sara Daeschner added five points, and Rowan Winter made another bucket. Alexa Schmitt added a foul shot from the charity stripe to round out the scoring.
The Chargers are now 16–5 overall and 10–4 in section play. Their final regular season game is an exhibition match-up at 5A Penn Hills on Monday, 2/9.
