Justena Giles threw a gem of a game for the OLSH softball team on Tuesday, allowing zero runs and besting Carlynton by a score of 11-0.
Giles went 7 innings, allowing 0 runs on 3 hits, striking out 10 and walking 1.
The Chargers got things started in the first inning, with
Kaylee Fabiano driving in one run with a single. The girls notched 4 runs in the fourth inning. The rally was led by a single by Giles and an error on a ball put in play by
Morgan O'Brien.
The Chargers smacked one homerun on the day - O'Brien went for the long ball in the 7th inning.
The Chargers had 17 hits in the game. Giles,
Juliette Vybiral, Fabiano,
Alyssa Minton, and
Delaney Walsh each managed multiple hits. Vybiral and Giles each collected 3 hits. The girls were sure-handed on the field and didn't commit a single error.
#18 took the loss for Carlynton. The hurler went 6 innings, allowing 9 runs on 16 hits and striking out 6.
