Sydney Trippe led the way with a flawless performance at the plate, going 3-for-3 as the OLSH Chargers rolled to a 16-1 win over Shady Side Academy.
The Chargers wasted no time taking control, jumping out to a 4-1 lead in the first inning behind run-scoring singles from Mya Eshenbaugh, Trippe, and Nevaeh Morin.
They continued to apply pressure in the second, adding three more runs when Sophia Wasko stole home, Trippe delivered an RBI single down the left field line, and Julia Pinter followed with a run-scoring single.
The game broke wide open in the third inning, as the Chargers scored nine runs. Camryn Hummel drove in a run with a single, Eshenbaugh added a two-run triple, and Trippe followed with an RBI double. Ashlyn Johnson chipped in with an RBI single, Wasko knocked in two with a double, and both Hummel and Eshenbaugh added additional RBI hits.
In the circle, Sophia Wasko was dominant, allowing just one hit and one unearned run over three innings while striking out two and walking none.
The Chargers were equally aggressive on the bases, swiping 11 steals in the game, and backed up their strong offensive showing with solid defense, turning a double play to complete an all-around performance.
