The OLSH Softball team came out strong on Monday afternoon, defeating Burgettstown 14–4 on the road. The Chargers wasted no time getting on the board, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning thanks to a two-RBI single by Mya Eshenbaugh, an RBI single from Leann Walzer, and a Burgettstown error.
OLSH broke the game open in the third inning, plating seven runs on six hits. Eshenbaugh launched a two-run homer to center field, followed by a three-run blast from Kaylee Seskey. Ava Ciummo added an RBI single, and another run scored on an error.
Camryn Hummel got the start in the circle for the Chargers, allowing just four unearned runs on three hits over five innings, striking out two and walking one.
Offensively, the Chargers racked up 15 hits on the day. Eshenbaugh led with four RBIs, going 2-for-3. Walzer and Ciummo each collected three hits, while Olivia DiGiacomo, Julia Pinter, and Sophia Wasko also recorded multiple hits. Hummel drew two walks, and the team showed patience at the plate with a total of five walks.
OLSH moves forward with strong momentum as they continue their season.
