The OLSH Chargers cruised to a commanding 18-1 win over Carlynton on Wednesday in a dominant offensive and defensive showing.
OLSH wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, plating four runs in the top of the first inning. Olivia DiGiacomo kicked off the rally with an RBI double, followed by an RBI double from Sophia Wasko. Leann Walzer then grounded out, bringing in two more runs to give the Chargers an early cushion.
The Chargers exploded for seven runs in the second inning—without recording a single hit. A patient approach at the plate allowed OLSH to capitalize. Sophia Wasko and Mya Eshenbaugh each drew bases-loaded walks to force in runs, while three errors by the Cougars led to five additional unearned runs.
In the third inning, the Chargers continued their offensive onslaught, scoring another seven runs—this time on six hits. Julia Pinter delivered a two-run double, and an error added another run. Sydney Trippe, Claire Bulls, Lizzie Smith, and Sophia Wasko each contributed RBI singles to extend the lead even further.
In the circle, Sophia Wasko delivered a standout performance. The right-hander went three innings, allowing just three hits and one run while striking out six and issuing no walks.
Offensively, the Chargers totaled 10 hits. Sophia Wasko led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Ava Ciummo showed strong plate discipline, drawing two of OLSH's five walks in the game.
With contributions throughout the lineup and a lockdown performance on the mound, the Chargers showed why they're a force to be reckoned with this season.
