Chargers Shut Out by Chartiers-Houston in Tough Road Loss

The OLSH softball team ran into a red-hot Chartiers-Houston squad on Tuesday, falling 12-0 in four innings.

Despite showing flashes at the plate, the Chargers struggled to keep pace with the Bucs' explosive offense. Mya Eshenbaugh, Kaylee Seskey, and Sophia Wasko each collected a hit for OLSH, but the Chargers couldn't string together enough offense to break through.

Senior pitcher Camryn Hummel battled through four innings in the circle, allowing 12 runs—seven earned—on 11 hits while striking out two. The Chargers' defense was tested early and often, as Chartiers-Houston capitalized on key miscues and timely hits.

The Bucs jumped ahead early with a solo home run by Ella Richey in the first inning and kept the pressure on with home runs from Meadow Ferri and Lauren Rush, along with a five-run third inning sparked by defensive errors and aggressive baserunning.

Although the result didn't go in OLSH's favor, the team showed resilience at the plate.

The Chargers will return home for Senior Night on Thursday to face Fort Cherry and honor the contributions and leadership of their graduating players.
