The OLSH Chargers delivered a commanding 11–1 victory over the Burgettstown Blue Devils on Monday, showcasing a balanced attack and standout pitching in their latest match-up.
The Chargers wasted no time getting on the board, thanks to a first-inning triple by Julia Pinter that set the tone early. They added another run in the second inning when Ava Ciummo lined a single down the right field line, extending the lead to 3–0.
Leann Walzer's RBI double in the third gave the Chargers a 4–0 cushion, and the offense continued to surge from there.
On the mound, Camryn Hummel was in control from the start. The starting pitcher tossed six strong innings, allowing just one run on six hits, striking out seven, and issuing only one walk to earn the win.
Offensively, the Chargers pounded out 13 hits. Julia Pinter led the way, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Ciummo, Kaylee Seskey, Sophia Wasko, Olivia DiGiacomo, and Pinter each collected two hits. Patient at the plate, OLSH drew six walks, with Mya Eshenbaugh and Hummel each drawing two free passes. The Chargers also played sharp defense, turning two double plays in the game.
The Chargers will look to carry their momentum into Tuesday's road game against Fort Cherry.
