The OLSH softball team came up short on Friday, falling 8–3 to section rival Seton LaSalle.
The Rebels jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning, capitalizing on a pair of hits and a wild pitch to take a 4–0 advantage. Seton extended the lead with a Gianna Ferrieri RBI double in the second inning, then padded their total with home runs in the sixth and seventh.
Despite the early deficit, the Chargers showed resilience late in the game, tallying three runs on eight hits. Mya Eshenbaugh put OLSH on the board with a solo home run to center field in the sixth, and Leann Walzer followed with a solo shot to left in the seventh. Claire Bulls added an RBI, while Camryn Hummel and Sophia Wasko each collected two hits for the Chargers.
Defensively, OLSH played a clean game with no errors. Hummel led the defense with six chances and also pitched a complete game, allowing eight runs on nine hits while striking out three and walking five over seven innings.
