OLSH Boys and Girls Bowling Teams Earned Convincing Victories Over Bishop Canevin

The OLSH Chargers Boys and Girls Bowling Programs continued their winning ways, earning their 2nd victory in the past two days after Friday's match with Bishop Canevin.

Boys: OLSH 7  Bishop Canevin 0 (OLSH wins pin count 2,358-2,037)

Going up against an improved Crusader Team, the Chargers bowled well enough as a team to earn all the points in a three-game sweep.

Jonah Schollaert rolled his 2nd 700 series of the season, collecting 715 pins and the Team-High score of 258 in the 2nd game of the match. The Boys kept the same lineup the rest of the match, with all bowlers earning at least a 400-series. Roman Ritz earned a 193 to collect a 498 series and Oliver Tomsic remained in the hunt for a WPIBL Tournament spot with a 492 series, earning a top score of 176. Brayden Douglass and Leeland Thompson contributed to the victory with top scores of 165 and 141, respectively. The Chargers improved to 5-1 on the season.

Girls: OLSH 7  Bishop Canevin 0 (OLSH wins pin count 2161-734)

The Lady Chargers remained perfect for the 2025-26 WPIBL Bowling Season, sweeping the Lady Crusaders for their 6th win of the season to improve to 6-0.

The depth of the team showed in this match, with 8 bowlers experiencing Varsity experience for the match. The Lady Chargers were led by Jordyn Velmire collecting a 478 series with a top score of 171. Chloe Goodwin earned her best series of her season, rolling a 436 series with a top score of 154. Hannah Hayes (169), Natalie Turcios (155), Katherine McCullough (151), and Eva Fardo (155 in her first Varsity game of the season) also boosted their averages with scores in the 150s. Charlotte Gauntner and Mia Malinich contributed in the victory for the program.

Junior Varsity Recap

The Chargers Junior Varsity squads did not miss a beat as well, consistently performing above their personal best marks to show promise of the program's future.

On the Boys side, Matthew Prince bowled a 433 series with a top score of 173. Aiden Octun also rolled a 400 series, closing his match with a 162. The Girls side featured Reagan Kavals bowling a 141, Eva Fardo rolling a 144, and Madison Hayes earning a personal-best with a 135. 

OLSH Bowling has a quick turnaround for the next match, going to Paradise Island Bowl to visit the Nazareth Prep Saints on Monday. Show your support for the Chargers as they are in the midst of another Section Championship run.
