OLSH Bowling Strikes Back! Boys Win in a Thriller! Girls Earn 8th Sweep in a Row!

Boys: OLSH 5, North Allegheny 2
(OLSH wins pin count, 2853–2468)

The boys bowling team avenged last month's loss to the Tigers. After two close matches, with each team securing one win, the Chargers closed out the contest with an eye-opening 1,112 pin count in the final game. The victory improves OLSH to 7–1 and ties them with Moon for first place in the West Section.

The boys were led by the sensational duo of Isaac Tarbuk and Jonah Schollaert, who battled through early challenges on the lanes to each earn a 600 series. Tarbuk rolled a 686 series, while Schollaert posted a 617. Both started the third game with at least six consecutive strikes, with Tarbuk rolling perfect through eight frames and finishing with a 265.

Also earning high scores on the night were Roman Ritz (206 game, 536 series), Leeland Thompson (personal-best 223 game, 514 series), and Oliver Tomsic (173 game, 500 series).

Girls: OLSH 7, North Allegheny 0
(OLSH wins pin count, 2071–1747)

The OLSH girls collected their third straight 2,000-pin series as a team last night, including two games in the 700s. They fought off a very close third game against North Allegheny, winning the final game by just seven pins. The sweep secured enough points for the Lady Chargers to clinch the West Section Championship, improving to 8–0 with two games remaining.

Four Lady Chargers rolled a 400 series, led by Chloe Goodwin's 445 series with a personal-best game of 176. Hannah Hayes continued her strong season with a game-high 195 and a 437 series. Jordyn Velmire was consistent throughout the match, earning a spot in the WPIBL Singles Championships with a 422 series. Natalie Turcios (405 series), Katherine McCullough (129 game), and Jacqueline Day (114 game) also contributed to the varsity victory.

Junior Varsity Notes

The junior varsity teams performed well, continuing to build a culture that will support OLSH bowling for years to come with several inspiring performances.

On the boys' side, Aiden Ochtun rolled a 160 game to earn a team-best 421 series. Sidney McLaughlin (150), Rylan Thompson (147), and Brayden Douglass (134 and 132) also showed strong improvement in their matches.

For the Lady Chargers, Mia Malinich led the way with a 369 series and a top score of 142. Charlotte Gauntner (146), Jacqueline Day (131 and 130), and Reagan Kavals (123) also delivered strong performances throughout the match.

The Chargers will travel to Pines Plaza next week to compete against the North Hills Indians. Please come out and support the Chargers as they continue another great season!
