The OLSH Boys and Girls Bowling teams finished the first half of the WPIBL Season with a strong performance, with both teams securing victories over the Moon Tigers. The Boys had a back and forth contest to win two of the three games in the match, while the Girls managed their 5th 3-game sweep in a row in a resounding result. The Boys Bowling Team improved to 4-1 in a three-way tie for first place, while the Girls Bowling Team improved to 5-0 and in first place.
Boys - OLSH 5Â Moon 2 (OLSH won on pin count 2584-2474)
The OLSH Boys Team was led by
Isaac Tarbuk with a 626 series, including an impressive 279 in the third game to help OLSH take the match result over Moon.
Isaac Tarbuk started with 8 strikes in a row, converted his spare on the 9th frame, and concluded with 3 additional strikes in the 10th to secure the result.
Jonah Schollaert continued his run as the best bowler in the section, capping off a 530 series with a top score of 188 and
Roman Ritz continued his steady performance with a 513 series and a top score of 184.
Oliver Tomsic and
Brayden Douglass complimented the OLSH team with strong performances for Varsity.
Girls - OLSH 7Â Â Moon 0 (OLSH won on pin count 1950-1411)
The Chargers continued their run as the top team in the West Section, earning their 5th sweep in a row, defeating Moon by over 500 pins in their result.
The team was led by
Jordyn Velmire with a 428 series and a top score of 148.
Natalie Turcios rolled a 419 series with a team-high 149.
Hannah Hayes continued her chance at earning one of the best averages in the section with a 393 series, including a 148 score.
Katherine McCullough and
Charlotte Gauntner also contributed to Varsity for OLSH's victory.
JV Notes
The Chargers Junior Varsity Teams continue to show their potential throughout the season, scoring impressive marks throughout their matches as well.
For the Boys,
Rylan Thompson earned scores of 187 and 152 and
Sidney McLaughlin rolled a 178 in the final game of the JV match. For the girls, it was
Eva Fardo who rolled a 146 to close out her match and
Madison Hayes earned a personal best for the season with a 131.
The Chargers will once again be at Paradise Lanes to host Bishop Canevin on January 9th with a 3:00pm start time.Â
