The OLSH Cross Country Team hosted the annual Youthtowne Clash on Saturday, September 27, welcoming teams from public, private, Catholic, and Christian schools across the region to compete on one of the fastest and best courses in the WPIAL. This year's invitational was the largest to date, featuring an impressive 1,116 finishers from grades 3 through 12.
The team also celebrated Senior Recognition, honoring the hard work, leadership, and dedication of the graduating seniors. Congratulations to seniors Brayden, Charlotte, Wesley, Lexi, Katelyn, Oliver, and Joey. These athletes have been key contributors to the success and spirit of the OLSH cross country program. We thank them for their commitment and wish them the very best as they move on to the next chapter of their academic, athletic, and personal journeys.
The girls cross country team had an outstanding day, finishing first in Class A and earning three individual medals. Jules Goshen led the way with a fifth-place finish, running a strong 19:38. Hannah Hayes showed major improvement, finishing seventh overall with a personal best of 19:48, while Eva Crofford also medaled, placing 23rd in 20:51. Mira Mosca was the fourth runner for the team, clocking 21:50, and Lindsay Bressler had her best race of the season, running 22:35 to round out the scoring. Charlotte Gauntner followed closely behind with a time of 22:38, just three seconds back.
The boys cross country team also performed well, placing third in Class A. Brayden Douglass earned a medal with a 23rd-place finish in 17:18, leading the team. Andre Kolocouris was next across the line, finishing in 18:19, followed by Wesley Goshen in 18:28, Jeremy Ye in 18:44, and Leo Mosca in 19:07 to complete the scoring.
